Ann Arbor Badminton Club | Ann Arbor, MI | 7349716355 |
We are a self-regulating bunch of folks that meet and play together to enjoy the sport of badminton. There aren’t any rules specific to the club but we do follow certain guidelines to ensure we all have a good time at the gym. Most of us play doubles to maximize court usage. If there is no one waiting and you see an open court feel free to play singles as long as you want or can. The club has eight courts that allow for plenty of play time. In case you see people waiting for the courts please be courteous and limit your time to one game at one time. You can warm up before the game but limit your warm up time depending on the crowd waiting. The club has players with different skill levels. For the best enjoyment of the game, it is generally beneficial for you to play with players that are at about the same skill levels. Most of us play with feather birdies/shuttle-cocks. Each one of us supplies a fresh bird at the start of each game and then uses them as they get worn out. The players take turn in supplying the birdies for the game. Feather birdies are more expensive but they offer a much more rewarding badminton experience as you get more involved with the sport.

University Of Michigan Badminton Club @ Ccrb | Ann Arbor, MI
Founded in 2010, the UM Badminton Club was started by a few avid badminton enthusiasts. Through the years the club has expanded significantly, now comprising of over 450 registered members and growing larger each day. Our goal is to create a fun and including environment for badminton enthusiasts. As badminton is an uncommon sport here in the U.S. , we aim to also promote the sport to the public and improve its recognition here in the states. Despite being primarily a sports organization, we also like to host social events throughout the year. Events hosted last year included a summer BBQ party, Chinese New Year celebration, and a karaoke event. Many more are planned for the coming year so come join us and have some fun! In addition, we also provide a wide variety of badminton related services; we are able to restring rackets, order/buy badminton equipment, and offer coaching. We are currently only a student organization and have not been recognized by the school as an official club sport. However, this only means we are not yet funded by the school, and does not limit our ability to practice or compete in and travel to tournaments. We have applied to the club sports committee but it will take some time before we are accepted.
