Details: The Badminton Club of UH was founded in January 2013 for badminton players at the University of Houston (UH) to get together at scheduled times for playing games, practicing, and just hitting around with fellow amateurs. The purpose of our club is to create a competitive yet friendly environment for those who love playing badminton and want to improve their skills. The Badminton Club of UH has members of all technique and skill levels and welcomes anyone who wants to learn the sport. We do not provide one-on-one coaching or drill sessions, but all of our members are willing to help and work with you upon request. Because we are a new club we are still finding ways to improve our club activities. So far, we have had several successsful club tournaments (singles and doubles), a scrimmage against Rice University, and a social event. We plan to host tournmanets, fun games, and social events every semester! One of our new endeavors has been the initiation of the Texas Intercollegiate Badminton Association (TIBA). We have gotten together with other Texas Universities and created a Badminton League and Annual Tournament! The purpose of TIBA is to popularize Badminton across Texas and create an environment where college level players can get together and learn from one another. Schedule: Tues, Thurs: 7:00pm - 9:00pm; Sat (Unoffical practice): 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Fees: Membership fees range from $20-$35. With the $20 fee you receive a club pin, $25 fee you receive a club pin and cotton shirt, and with the $35 fee you will receive a pin and athletic quality shirt.

Policy: The only requirement to join the Badminton Club at UH is that you are either a University of Houston student, alumni, or faculty/staff.
