Details: The NMSU Badminton Club started in the 1940s, around the time of World War II. Harry Holguin became involved in the late 1960s, when he started college as an undergraduate. The football coaches would send their players to Harry to teach them some lessons about getting in shape. Harry led the club for about 35 years as czar and guru until his death in 2003. In 1977, the NMSU Badminton Club became an official student organization of New Mexico State University. There is a large group of students, faculty, staff, and other visitors who regularly play badminton at NMSU. Players are from all levels, from beginners to advanced, and many of them are international students. Players of both sexes play, young and old. We switch players and teams informally, so you can play with many different people in a short time. If you are a beginner, you can learn how to play. If you already have experience playing, you will find many players at various levels to play with. The Badminton Club provides equipment such as rackets, nets, and shuttlecocks. Feel free to use them during play, or you can bring your own. It is friendly, it is a lot of fun, and it is great exercise!
